CVM is committed to the safety and well-being of our volunteers. As a missions participant, you are vulnerable to certain safety and security risks, and we want to help you have a positive experience and minimize your exposure to dangerous situations. It is important to be well trained and well prepared for your trip, even as you trust God in all things. This course will teach you basic security principles for missions while preparing, while traveling, and while on the field.
*Note: You must visit all 4 modules in order to complete this course.
Objectives:
By the end of this course, learners will
- Recognize why security training is important for missions travelers
- Recall key overarching principles for mission security
- Apply safety and security principles while preparing for a missions trip
- Identify steps that lead to an attack
- Differentiate between soft and hard target appearances and behaviors
- Apply security principles to avoid and defeat an attack
- Apply security principles for airports, ground transportation, hotels, and handling money
- Apply security principles with their electronics and online presence
- Use a list of resources to aid their preparation for secure travel
